The Garden Chronicles

Every week or so, weather permitting, we took pictures of the plants in the Kimberly Steward Memorial Garden to show their development. In the early spring, when every day might bring a new member to "the club," we took the pictures two or three times a week. The text for the descriptions of the plants was written by John Bond, retired professor of micology at Appalachian State and the Museum's "Head Gardener". The pictures were taken by Catherine Pinson.

In each section of the table are the latest members of the garden. Plants in prior weeks were updated until their demise or until the end of the season. There is also a pictorial index if you would like a preview of the blooms before watching the plants' development.
