Students also experience moments in the lives of Sequoyah, the inventor of the Cherokee alphabet, and Chief Junaluska, the most powerful Cherokee chief in North Carolina, who led the Cherokees just before the tragedy of the Trail of Tears. Charlotte Ross also tells about Andrew Jackson, whose life was once saved by Cherokees.
