Song of the Whipporwill

"Many back pages of history had been written by the house. Across the back lawn, the first shots of the Revolutionary War had been fired. Emerson lived here and wrote his essay on Nature, followed by Nathaniel Hawthorne and his bride Sophia. Sitting there, alone with my reverence for the place, I heard the whipporwill's song."
