Appalachian Cultural Museum

Meet Patricia Haskell

Pat Haskell is the Museum's newest volunteer. Like several other volunteers, Pat just happened across the Museum one day (while signing up for an ISS program) and now finds herself helping out. She says volunteering at the Museum ties in well with her current interest in doing research on her husband Bob's family (Bob Haskell is originally from the Deep Gap area, where his family has lived for five generations). Frequent vacations to the area convinced them that the mountains of North Carolina would be a great place for Bob to retire to while Pat continues running her own company. Her official title? Webmaster! They are currently doing renovations on the family home. They have lived in many cities in the US as well as in England and even Brazil. Pat says perhaps they've "come to Boone for a new adventure."
